Meet Tahlia: Northern Ireland’s only shop for local luxury leather

This September, it will have been a year since Tahlia Leather was officially established in the public eye. Specialising in luxury leather products, it was no easy feat to start our company in Northern Ireland, but the amount of support we’ve received as a local business this year has been so encouraging.

It’s been such an exciting year where we’ve held events in the Merchant hotel, featured in multiple issues of the Ulster Tatler and even been shortlisted for start up of the year awards! We’ve also been honoured to support local charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, The Brain Tumour Charity and Youth for Christ.

We’ve had a lot of fun along the way and we’re glad that you are able to follow our journey with us. So we thought it was about time that we introduced you all properly to Tahlia.

Elaine Dobson- Director of Tahlia Leather

Born in Germany and originally from England, Elaine has lived in Northern Ireland for 24 years.

Using her personal style and love for glamorous clothes, Elaine established Tahlia Leather in 2017 to create beautiful locally sourced leather jackets. In her free time, Elaine enjoys yoga, watching psychological documentaries and baking her famous carrot cake!

Her favourite movie is Black Hawk Down, favourite music artist Bruce Springsteen and favourite dish, salt and chilli prawns with vegetable udon noodles.  Elaine is married to Stuart Dobson, owner of Elmgrove Foods and works closely with her father in law, Jack Dobson OBE of Dunbia, to source local premium quality leather skins.
